• Link popularity refers to the number of backlinks pointing to a webpage. The higher a web page's backlink popularity rating the better, because it plays a big part in how search engines rank webpages.
• The system displays the last 10 URLs you entered, so you can compare your link popularity rating with your competitors'. There's no need to sign up or log in, but cookies must be accepted by your web browser.
• MSN Live Search have turned off the function that searches for the number of links to a site/page.
• The link popularity report appears in a new browser window. If the window doesn't appear, try switching off any popup stopping software you may have installed on your computer, or try a different web browser.
• Once you click the "Link Popularity Check" button, please be patient as it can take between 20 and 40 seconds to process your search. If nothing happens after 60 seconds, close the popup window and try again.
• "--" means no results for the URL entered. Try another one.
• Every webpage has its own link popularity rating. You may check the link popularity of ANY webpage by entering the exact URL into the search form.
• Entering "www.yoursite.com" and "yoursite.com" may produce different link popularity results.
• Link popularity results may vary due to factors beyond my control. These include your location, time of day, indexing runs, traffic load, load balancing measures, server timeout, ongoing ranking jobs, etc.
